Sermon For The Week: Rely on God, Not human beings, For True happiness

God-gidibase

Psalm 146:5 – "Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God."

Who do you turn to, when you are sad and unhappy?

Do you go to your parents, boyfriend, girlfriend, children, friends, pastor, e.t.c?

Do you get the instant, true fix, you yearn for?

The answer is probably no, because all of the above are temporary sources of happiness.

This is seen in Isaiah 2:22, which says, “Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath…”

This week, we are reminded of the true source of happiness, joy and all good things.

Psalm 4:6-7 says, “Many people say, “Who will show us better times?” Let your face smile on us, LORD. You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.”

We are urged to depend on only God, in our times of need.

Psalm 118:8 adds, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

Seek real happiness from only God, He is the main source!

Psalm 144:15 confirms this by saying, “Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.”

Do you agree?
