How Mayowa Ahmed’s Family Scammed Me – Toyin Aimakhu Cries Out

According to Ynaija, Following a story by an online news platform that the #SaveMayowa initiative may have been a ruse with the intention to scam unsuspecting sympathizers of their hard earned money, YNaija visited Lagos University Teaching Hospital at Idi-Araba.

On arrival, YNaija in an exclusive interview, spoke to Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu who had blown open the alleged scam to the police.

Toyin Aimakhu was a major champion of the #SaveMayowa initiative which has allegedly raised an excess of N80 million through public donations and over $150,000 in a GoFundMe account.

According to the actress, the entire #SaveMayowa initiative is a scam set up by Mayowa Ahmed’s family.

Speaking to YNaija, the actress said, “They tagged me, she sent a message to me… they said she’s my huge fan saying she had cancer and she needed help and wanted me to come… I showed the doctor the (medical) report and the doctor said ‘which report?’. They said it was a fake report.

She continued, “They just came up with the plan on Sunday. They now came to LUTH to appear as if they were in LUTH. When they saw me they said I did not help them to beg for money… that they don’t know anything.”

Toyin Aimakhu, who was one of those who spearheaded the fundraising.

#SaveMayowa has reportedly raised over $150,000 through a GoFundMe account and an excess of N80 million in Mayowa’s Access bank account through public donations.
